How do you create an online experience that generates real transformation?

Over the last ten years we’ve worked with hundreds of educators, facilitators, coaches, healers, and executives to design experiences that support meaningful connection and conversation.  In the process we’ve learned a lot about what it takes to deliver a truly transformational experience in the online space.

We believe that transformation is what becomes available in a space where people become deeply present to themselves and each other.  This quality of presence can be cultivated in any context.  The content of the experience does not have to be about personal transformation or mindfulness.  The content of the experience can be about organizational design, marketing, permaculture, or anything else.  What makes the experience transformational is how people show up – their way of being with each other.

The key to creating a virtual experience like this is understanding how to work with what’s available in the online space - how to create a powerful container and how to navigate the territory between what happens on a zoom call and in an online discussion space.

In this session, we'll show you how you can apply transformational experience design principles in your own work.  You’ll learn how to work with online groups in a powerful way and how to weave together your zoom calls with an online environment that supports deeper connection over time.

About Lorenz and Natasha

We've been guiding and facilitating small group experiences since 2011.  We started with hosting meetups in our living room in New York City.  Lots of them.  Over the years, we realized that group process is our thing.  Today, we're the co-founders of Sutra, a platform that is home to thousands of people participating in group learning experiences. And our Transformational Teaching Online program has helped hundreds of people discover what's possible with relational spaces online.

Our work with Sutra has supported the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma, leadership programs at UNICEF and the Presencing Institute, as well as many other organizations and individuals in creating online learning experiences that foster deep connection and communication.

Our background integrates a masters study from the Harvard Graduate School of Education with Theory U work from MIT professor Otto Scharmer and Immunity To Change methodologies from Harvard professors Robert Keegan and Lisa Lahey as well as relational practices inspired by Thomas Hubl.

If you really knew us you would know... that we're both certified yoga teachers and we love meditating with our dog Dakota :-)

What people have shared about Sutra...

Sutra has been a wonderfully supportive platform for our Warriors for the Human Spirit trainings. The Warrior community spans more than 30 countries and has 200 active members. We are about to expand to many more hundred and Sutra gives us confidence that we can manage large numbers without losing the quality of interactions and the depth of teachings.

Author and teacher

I manage trainings with about 100 people and have to keep track of everyone while fostering a friendly and supportive community.  Every platform I researched felt unsafe and couldn't support kinds of conversations that I know bring spiritual, personal, and communal transformation.  When I found Sutra I instantly saw the value and have been a devoted user ever since.

Master yoga teacher

There is something about the quality of Sutra that invites people to listen more deeply and be really intentional in action. On other social media, people throw anything out, but here, I see people taking a lot of care and really respecting the space.  It nourishes me. I take care of it. It feels special … a special place and group. I think others might be feeling that too.
