Author Margaret Wheatley will be joining us to discuss her upcoming book release.  The Second Edition of Who Do We Choose To Be? is a basically brand new book, with 80% new material.  Meg’s intention is to bring current reality into sharp focus so that people may find a path of contribution for this time. She shares:

In a world we cannot recognize, how do we find a way forward?  In this world we do not understand, how do we know what to do?  When so little is comprehensible, what is meaningful work, what is genuine contribution?

Meg is a dear friend, and we’re excited to host this very timely conversation exploring her life’s work.  This will be an interactive discussion with opportunities to share reflections and ask questions.

Margaret (Meg) Wheatley has worked out in the world since 1966, advising and consulting to nearly all varieties of organizations and leadership levels on all continents (except Antarctica).  She is president and co-founder of The Berkana Institute (Berkana.org), a global non-profit that has supported leaders, especially in the Global South, as they experiment with how to create self-organizing and life-affirming initiatives, projects, and organizations.  She has written ten books, from the classic Leadership and the New Science (1992) to Who Do We Choose To Be: Facing Reality, Claiming Leadership, Restoring Sanity (2017, 2023).  Her most creative work (2020 with Jerry Granelli) is a mesmerizing listening experience, The Warrior’s Songline, a Journey into Warriorship Guided by Voice And Sound.

Since 2015, she has been developing leaders and activists from 35 countries as Warriors for the Human Spirit.

Meg has been a dedicated Tibetan Buddhist practitioner for decades, trained to work with the richness of energies, deities, and dynamics of space.  Since 2018, she has been a devoted disciple to an Indian yogi who regularly uses alchemy in astonishing ways - which she has directly witnessed.

We've been guiding and facilitating small group experiences since 2011.  We started with hosting meetups in our living room in New York City.  Lots of them.  Over the years, we realized that group process is our thing.  Today, we're the co-founders of Sutra, a platform that is home to over 35,000 people participating in group learning experiences. And our Transformational Teaching Online program has helped hundreds of people discover what's possible with relational spaces online.

Our work with Sutra has supported the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma, leadership programs at the WHO and the Presencing Institute, as well as many other organizations and individuals in creating online learning experiences that foster deep connection and communication.

Our background integrates yogic philosophy with a masters study from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, as well as Theory U work from MIT professor Otto Scharmer, Immunity To Change methodologies from Harvard professors Robert Keegan and Lisa Lahey, the work of Werner Erhard, and relational practices inspired by Thomas Hubl.

If you really knew us you would know... that we're both certified yoga teachers and we love meditating with our dog Dakota :-)
